Yoweri Museveni’s government has cracked down on anti-government protests, arresting dozens including protest organizers and members of the press. Museveni, who has been president for 40 years, responded to the protests on X (formerly Twitter) accusing them of being sponsored by foreign agents. Opposition leader Bobi Wine has spoken out in support, as police blockaded the National Unity Platform headquarters.
