Following Uganda’s passage of one of Africa’s harshest anti-LGTBQ pieces of legislation, Kenya is looking to follow suit. Ghana’s parliament has supported a similar bill that makes LGBTQ identification punishable by a three-year prison sentence, with a ten-year sentence for queer rights advocacy.

The Brooklyn Museum’s Africa Fashion exhibit showcases the history of African design from the 1950s to present. The display is on until 23 October.
