Denis Mukwege, gynaecologist and winner of the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize, has announced his campaign for President of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mukwege, also known as Dr. Miracle, was awarded for his work doing reconstructive surgery on victims of rape. DRC’s presidential election is scheduled for December.

Elite Africa’s own Thomas Tieku won the Review of International Studies’ Best Article Prize for “The Legon School of International Relations.” The article explores a branch of international relations scholarship from the University of Ghana and its implications for the broader field of IR.
