Former South African President Jacob Zuma has announced he will not be endorsing the African National Congress (ANC) in the 2024 general elections, instead supporting a new uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party. Zuma remains a member of the ANC as he has been since 1959, but his relationship with the party has frayed since he was pushed out of office in 2018 due to corruption allegations. The ANC is seeking to sue the MK Party for its name, which harkens back to the armed wing of the ANC.
